We were able to convert the 400 watt Metal Halide lights to 150 watt LED HID lights so that the lights could be turned on and off instantaneously. This eliminated the abuse that was happening and resulted in a 94% foot-candle measurements so the quality of the lights was also significant improved as well.

Cost/Savings analysis

This project was done on maintenance savings and issues with kids turning off the 400 watt Metal Halide lights when they get mad at each other. With the MH lights, kids had to wait about 15-20 minutes for the lights to come back on to play and there were 25% of the lights not working due to this abuse.
